Sa Creu 2
Making use of an old existing property in ruins, this little annex was renovated before building the main house. Consistent on a one floor old ibicencan ruin, and maintaining its main features, this little house has made use of all the space available to create an old rustic touch renovation.
Maintaining the antic well, this becomes the main articulation point of the house, still being used for rain water for the house, making it self sufficient in this aspect, together with solar panels for hot water, keeping the electricity usage to a minimum.
Using local materials and construction techniques, the design responds to the architectural vernacular. The facades[2] have recovered the natural stone and have been designed to promote natural ventilation, control solar gain and exploit the cooling properties of thermal mass and, for privacy, the landscape plays an important role, all with local plants which do not need much water.
