Can Formentera consists of an entirely renovated house on a very small plot. Skillful interpretation of building and client needs resulted in a design which made the maximum effective use of the house by completely opening it to the exterior, and preserving the visual integrity of the mews as a street. The internal planning of the house responds to particular needs of the occupants. The introduction of natural light by opening new windows and a concern for individual privacy were strong elements of the design.
The main door opens straight into a little lobby, with an enclosed toilet area, which is connected to the living room, kitchen and dining room. All this space is open with natural light, overlooking the pool and breathtaking views of the sea and the famous island of Es Vedra.
All combined with a modern style, the bedrooms have their own open bathroom, with exception of the toilets, which are closed to maintain privacy. Also, the inside and outside circulation enables the house to offer a larger feeling to the plot, connecting all rooms to the exterior space, giving a sense of natural flow to the estate, all on one level.
